Hawai’i

Momi is a very passionate activist who explains her love for the Hawaiian culture. She also takes a passion in teaching drivers Ed so that students can be educated and safe, live and respect the land she inhabits, as well as teach people about the different traditions (dance, language, and chants).

Hawaii has been an incredible experience! So far, we’ve seen many places and have also met a number of amazing people. One of those places that we’ve visited was a Hawaiian native camp created my Hawailan natives, Lei and Ana. At the camp, our group was exposed to Hawaiian culture elements including chants, hula, the language of Hawaii, and environmental project procedures, which were demonstrated to us by not only the Hawaiian adults, but also the children making up the camp.

Students from Notre Dame Academy took part in an adventure across Costa Rica this summer! From hiking through the rainforest and making chocolate from scratch, to connecting with our host partners to learn more about their everyday lives – this has been a transformational semester!
