How global routes need-based scholarships work

We encourage everyone with financial hardship apply for our need based scholarships.  All applications are confidential except to necessary administrative staff who review each to determine an award.  Payment plans may be requested at any time to your program director or through your Student Portal.

  1. Fill out the application to be a student on any program
  2. As a family, fill out this need-based scholarship application (20 mins)
  3. Wait 2-3 business days and we offer what we’re able based on program choice (this may include offering a scholarship for a different program region)
  4. Accept your award and pay the $600 deposit to confirm your spot
  5. Watch as your award is applied to your online account as a tuition discount

The Need-Based Scholarship Application

This is a short application that asks for simple written answers (no file uploads).  While we want EVERYONE to benefit from these experiences, we unfortunately don’t have limitless reserves to support applicants.  When deciding whether and how much we can offer, we will balance the amount of spaces we have on any given program; the cost of that particular program; your statement of need; and how you’d contribute to the group and share the benefits of your experience.

We are happy to work with families that want to create a payment plan, however, we cannot extend plans beyond a month past the end of the program.

Using 529 College Savings Plans

For families with 529 College Savings plans, students may be eligible to apply 529 funds towards their Global Routes program IF sufficient college credit is earned over the course of their program.  529 funds can be applied to full program fees, gear and equipment, and of course college credit fees.  Please visit the College Credit page here and talk to your enrollment advisor.
