Simplicity is a Major Takeaway for NDA students

Hola! We are wrapping up the program on the beach in Uvita with some awesome surf lessons! It’s been amazing to see students catch their very first waves and we’re feeling so grateful for our awesome instructor, Carlos “Diablo.”

The transition from our homestay community has been bittersweet with lots of laughter, lots of smiles…and also lots of tears.

During the past few days, we’ve begun to celebrate what we’ve learned, accomplished and all the ways that we’ve grown. We’re continuing to debrief our experience and set our intentions for the future. As we approach departure day, our discussions have centered around an exploration of the various ways that we can integrate the “Pura Vida” philosophy into our everyday lives back in the United States.

We are so grateful to all of our incredible hosts, guides, and chaperones, and for the extraordinarily delicious and fresh local food that’s been powering our journey.

Enjoy the poignant post below from “The Blog Squad” and the beautiful sunset photos!

With a mix of getting to know the locals and playing more soccer in our free time.

Since Josie’s and Anthony’s blog we have left Momi’s farm and are now camping in Miloli’i. This is the last fishing village on the Big Island and we are lucky enough to have been invited here by Ka’imi.
