As we write, our Caribbean travelers are exploring the St. Vincentian island of Bequia, getting to know not just beautiful scenery, but people from many different backgrounds. This past week, they climbed to the top of a volcano, took a ferry to Bequia, ate plenty of fresh food and freshly caught fish, and even met the former Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines!
Continuing with our dinner stay tradition, this group got one last meal in before departing the host community. Looks delicious!
Here goes the whole crew hiking up the volcano! The top was misty, but the journey was a lovely one.
We also celebrated a birthday last week, with cake and laughter. Happy birthday, Will!
Our group also had to bid farewell to Zena, who headed back to the States. Everyone wished her well – but also wished she’d stay!
Bequia (pronounced beck-way) is the second largest of the islands in the Grenadines, and it’s a ferry-ride away from the main island where our group stayed with their host community. Bequia offers a beautiful harbor, stunning beaches, tons of fresh food, and – for our travelers – a chance to meet James Mitchell, former PM of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Take a look!
We can’t believe our travelers will be headed home in just a few short days. Between now and then, they’ll have the opportunity to keep exploring Bequia, do some souvenir shopping back in Kingstown, and wrap up with a few rewarding days at WMI in New Hampshire. What a whirlwind!
