The photo below speaks for itself, but we were certainly happy to hear from the Nepal crew as they descended from the trek on their last day.

We caught them just after an activity where the group assigned each other spirit animals. Brooke (the group’s lioness) and Dan (the group’s moose) reported that the trek was life changing, challenging and rewarding for everyone!

The group supported each other through the longer days where they traversed many miles, climbed to high altitudes, befriended leech after leech, and rest together during masala tea breaks! Within just a couple days of the trek the group along with their guides: Ratna, Bolle, Binod, and Basu performed as a well oil machine. All four guides have become quite close to the group and on Saturday night the group held a special farewell party filled with gratitude gifts for Basu. The other three guides will continue on to the community, Okhale, with the group.

Enjoying the teahouse along the way the group is now familiar with Nepali cuisine. One evening they indulged in a meal of yak cheese pizza! Everyone is enjoying the food and feeling well fed.

The students each take on leadership roles within the group, whether navigating along the trek, leading yoga, meditation, or facilitating group discussions and meetings.

The group will rest and relax today in Dunche to let themselves recover from the trek. Dan mentioned he and many of the group members do feel stronger than ever after all the trekking!
