Trek through the Andes to the Cloud Forest
After a short orientation to Ecuadorian language, customs, and culture, perhaps we trek to the famous Cloud Forest, camping on the river and enjoying the hot springs along the way.
Experience local markets
In the Ecuadorian highlands, students enjoy discovering new ideas among colorful markets bursting with artisanal goods. Renowned for their artwork, this region is a must-do for groups interested in crafts, makers, and small business.
Immerse yourself in rural life
In the Cloud Forest, groups can meet local farmers, hike and explore one of the world’s most biodiverse regions, and contribute to hands-on work with reforestation and agricultural projects.
Adventure in the Amazon
Include an adventure in the Amazon on your journey! Stay with a host family and study indigenous issues, crafts, cooking, animal rescue, and more. Wrap up your grand adventure with whitewater rafting, ziplining, or chasing waterfalls!

Global Routes is an industry leader in the field of experiential education. We have led over 10,000 students on immersive and transformative experiences abroad since 1967. Our primary mission is to support educators in their curriculum goals by facilitating exceptional global learning experiences.
In addition to offering 4-5 week open-enrollment summer programs for high school students, we also love working with schools, camps, and groups to design and develop custom programs and courses.
Each custom program we design is unique. We use the foundation of our global partner network to craft a trip itinerary that encapsulates the tenets of our Global Routes programs:Â
