After our last few days spent in the village finishing up the soccer net (which was a huge hit for all community members), creating a beautiful mural for the school, nearly finishing our promised work for the English classroom, teaching four days worth of English classes to ages 5-18, and eating our last helpings of gallo pinto and banana bread, we are off to our next adventure. Saying goodbye to Coralillos was not easy, as we gave our final speeches, watched memorable traditional dances performed by the children, loaded up on coffee beans from the local co-op, some tears were shed for sure. A bittersweet feeling felt by all, the juxtaposition of sadness to leave met with excitement for final travel. And on to the beach!!!
Uvita was very good to us. Sunshine and lazy days at the beach. A beautiful pacific view from our hotel. Surfing in the rain (everyone stood up!). Jungle hikes to a secluded beach. Olympic games in the fresh water lagoon. Gorgeous beach caverns peaking through to the blue ocean on the other side. Pool competitions filled with underwater somersaults and relay races galore. Evening showers and yellow flowers. Pink sunsets and chilled coconut water. Sunburnt bodies and sleepy faces.
We loaded the bus this morning to head toward San Jose, our final stop before we head home. Tomorrow we have a super early wake up to start our day white water rafting. Everyone is stoked and ready for our final final adventure.
To all of you back home, we love and miss you and cant wait to see you soon!
