Wrapping up the service project!

The group is wrapping up their time in the community. They are feeling really proud of the incredible work they completed in the village. The classroom is finished complete with a world mural map painted on one of the walls. (We hope to get photos tomorrow!) The group was also able to contribute funding for a water cistern for the classroom, desks, chairs and school supplies including: dictionaries, notebooks, pencils and soccer balls. Today they finished the outside by planting 20 trees.  The community and the students are all thrilled with the project!

Everyone is excited for final travel, however a bit sad to leave the community. Yesterday Fabio initiated a fun project of baking cookies for all the families. Today there was a farewell ceremony with speeches by community members and a an education regional representative honoring the group’s experience in the village!

More to come soon!
