Hey family and friends,
Just wanted to give you an update that we have arrived safely in Cambodia and have settled in nicely to our incredible accommodation at Journeys Within complete with amazing food, service, and pool. This has been the perfect place to get comfortable in order to reflect on our collective experiences together. The day we arrived we met one of the Journeys Within rockstar guides Sina at the airport and soon thereafter we found ourselves climbing ancient temples, taking goofy group photos, feeding monkeys, and generally awed by the scenery of what is the gigantic complex of Angkor Wat. As you can see from our photos it was a magical day. We went out for dinner to taste the Cambodian fare, which proved to be a huge hit by all. All this followed by some last minute souvenirs at the night market and then off to bed early in preparation for the 4:30am wake up call in order to catch the sunrise over the four pillared complex of Angkor Wat.
Later in the afternoon students enjoyed interacting with local english students at the non-profit Journeys Within Our Community before another fabulous dinner, which was sadly our last together as a complete group. Tomorrow we are headed out at 8:30 to tour Banteay Srei temple, which are guide has informed us is the location of where they filmed the movie Tomb Raider…everyone is excited.
