Costa Rica: Greetings from the Land of Pura Vida!

Hi families!

Saludos desde Costa Rica! The group now has service and just sent in their first blog post! Read below to see what they’ve been up to!

Day 1—Travel Day

Many of us met up at Newark Airport, filled with excitement for the journey on which we were about to embark. Because of Bonnie (tropical storm/hurricane) some flights were turbulent, some were almost diverted, but we all made it to Casa Margarita. Our first tastes of Costa Rican food came from mini bananas and it wasn’t long before we had our first gallo pinto! —Eliza T

Day 2—Trip to San Isidro

Today, the full group was finally together at breakfast. We ate the best mango and fruit EVER! We got on the bus to go to the Mirador and stopped at the supermercado on the way! We stopped again for some Costa Rican favorites at lunch at Cerro de la Muerte (Hill of Death) at 12,000 feet elevation! After a four-hour bus ride, we  got to the Mirador Hotel and the view as unreal! After a few team bonding activities, we all fell asleep. —Brynn B
