The HEAF (Harlem Educational Activities Fund) Students left New York City early Wednesday morning, and after a long journey across the globe and a short stop in Qatar, they arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon!

There, they met up with their Global Routes leader Alissa and traveled to Bodnath to begin their deep dive into Nepali culture. During orientation, they were introduced to the Nepali language, the volunteer opportunities they’d be participating in, explored the town, visited a Buddhist Nunnery, hiked through Shivapuri National Park during their cultural exchange with Nepali teens, and even took a cooking class! We are looking forward to their upcoming service projects with our incredible partners in Nepal.
