We received news today from Laurel Barton, the program leader, about Munjiti, the village where the group spent their first 3 weeks. After seeing all the hard work that the group did to renovate one of the classrooms in the secondary school, the government has decided to financially support the renovation of 4 more classrooms! This development is due in large part to the visibility that the Global Routes group brought to the condition of the school and to the hard work of our in-country staff member Jeremiah Karungani who advocated for a greater contribution from the local government as a demonstration of their commitment to education. The group will be returning to Munjiti for a visit in 2 weeks and can celebrate this amazing news alongside the community!
