{"id":1422,"date":"2011-09-14T13:38:34","date_gmt":"2011-09-14T13:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.globalroutes.org\/?p=1422"},"modified":"2011-09-14T13:38:34","modified_gmt":"2011-09-14T13:38:34","slug":"first-days-in-kenya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalroutes.org\/staging\/8011\/2011\/09\/14\/first-days-in-kenya\/","title":{"rendered":"First days in Kenya!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\":6b\">All the interns arrived safely and survived a late night followed by an early morning the next day as we headed out to enjoy a few of the more scenic areas of Nairobi, including the Elephant and\u00a0Giraffe parks and the Boma Cultural Center where we witnessed some\u00a0incredible acrobatics.<\/div>\n<div>Then it was time to head out into the wild! We embarked on our safari through the amazing Rift Valley and began by summiting Mt. Longonot. We were the first Global Routes group to make it all the way!\u00a0Next, we took a\u00a0hike into Hells Gate National Park and also explored Nakuru National Park and had a great time spotting zebras, warthog, and\u00a0giraffes. One highlight was\u00a0teaming up to protect our camp from the feisty baboons! We were\u00a0successful!
