APPALACHIAN LEADERSHIP COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Building key elements of leadership – According to Seth Godin, young adults need these two skills, and only these two skills, to thrive in the 21st century: Leadership and the ability to solve interesting problems. This course emphasizes both of these skills through challenging hard-skill initiatives such as rock climbing, canoeing, and backpacking in the wilderness; as well as soft-skill initiatives, such as facilitating group meetings, addressing conflict, and demonstrating the development of key leadership traits.

Backdrop – The backdrop for this course is the Appalachian region along the Pennsylvania and New Jersey borders.

This program can also be developed in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, or in the Southwest.
